Black Lantern Suicide Squid.
A lot of Christmas standards (please, these aren't "holiday" songs, with a few exceptions) simply aren't all that long. Sure, many of them have obscure additional verses that can be used to stretch them out to the radio standard 3:15 length, but a lot of Christmas songs on the radio are horribly padded out, repeating the entire song twice with an instrumental solo in the middle or something.
I goofed and made the piece wider than my scanner plate, which means that even with some cropping there's shadow effects at the edges where the paper isn't flat against the glass.
With attempts to remove the shadow with contrast and brightness tweaks )
No adjustment at all )

In high school, I was the editor of the school's literary magazine for two years, mainly because no one else would do it and I wanted to get my stuff in print. :) A LOT of it could charitably be called forced, but there's a couple of pieces I'm still proud of, including the following acrostic. (A lot of submissions were just teachers dumping homework assignment formula poems on us, so I saw so many weak acrostics I was inspired to try ones that did more with the form, such as a limerick acrostic, or this one.)

Encendido in el cielo
Sólo paracen hacerse de hielo.
Tiempo para ellas no está de realidad,
Real, como él está en la ciudad.
Enamorados los que están
LLorando tienen tan
Angustia que los que viven
Sin estrellas.

Here's a rough translation, keeping in mind that "Real" in the poem is a pun, meaning both real and royal.

Burning in the sky
They only seem to be made of ice.
Time for them is not of reality,
Real/Royal like it is in the city.
Lovers who are
Crying have as much
Anguish as those that live
WIthout stars.

Teaching myself a bit more about keybinds to try to automate some of the more hassle-some aspects of playing the Kheldian classes. Mainly, needing to retoggle defenses and rearrange trays when switching modes. Here's what I have for my L7 Warshade, it'll obviously need more entries for toggles as I level up. And my Peacebringer will need to toggle on a flying power.

/bind numpad1 "prev_tray$$powexec_toggleon dark nova"

/bind numpad2 "powexec_toggleoff dark nova$$powexec_toggleon gravity shield$$next_tray"

ETA: Ah, turns out that you can't set it up to activate multiple powers in a row, to avoid chaining attacks in a bind. So I have to pick which one power I want turned on automatically upon reversion to human form. Probably the basic defense power for Warshades and flight for Peacebringers.
