While sitting around in the game store today, the GM of a Dark Heresy game across the room was talking about the "server wenches" rather than "serving wenches," and that got me thinking...has anyone made a T-shirt for female IT people with the logo "Server Wench"? If not, someone probably should. ;)

My only real problem with Terminator: Salvation is that the publicity machine did its damnedest to kneecap the movie. They give away the big plot twist in pretty much every ad, while the movie itself is very careful not to give it away to the viewer until the characters know as well. Also, the publicity machine makes it out that this is a John Connor movie, when he's really just supporting cast. (Oh, and an aside: the 4" scale John Connor figure with the bandana over the face isn't Connor, it's a different character. They musta repurposed it at the last minute to give more Connor toys.)

The original art still exists, and is crap. :) So I drew a new version, with some design tweaks. The basic premise is that he's me, seven years older (so that he was 25 at the time I created him in April 1989) and with powers. His costume is "real clothing", a kick I was on that season. Just a red shirt, black pants and shoes, some wraparound shades and a bandolier to hold his gadgets. The original powerset had him only able to create droplets of solar plasma, which he could throw at people in a pinch, but preferred to use to power his supertech, like the laser torch he's trying to reload while some inconsiderate person is shooting at him. Later on, he figured out how to internalize the power and built a supersuit to give him flight and protection during times he had to power down. I might draw an update of that too, since I don't have any recent pics of it.

Has anyone pointed out to the Sketchers people that their "Super Z-strap Man" character looks like a bondage-based superhero? And, frankly, IS one?

Also, almost done with a drawing of Sharon Venturi (City of Heroes character), but I need to get a few new Prismacolor markers to finish the background first.

Today is recognized as the date in 1984 that Transformers was launched as a distinct property. Sure, the toys were all taken from other series (Diaclone, Microman, etc), and the comic was solicited as a 4 issue miniseries, but it managed to outlive its halting beginnings and last longer than most toylines.
