A simple tail-replacement and repaint of a spare $1 McD's Celestia figure. :)

Her reign was short and chaotic, but at least the mail got delivered on time.... )
Coherent Super Stories #25 - "The Sod Men" featuring White Hat: In the early 1980s, it was mistakenly thought that the White Hat had passed into the public domain, and a British publisher created a short-lived weekly featuring comics and text pieces about him, pseudonymously written by Bart Stone. Fandom rumor has it that Alan Moore wrote at least some of these stories, and could this tale of prairie zombies be one of them?

So, campus is closed in anticipation of a day full of freezing drizzle. I'd put some stuff off to today, so I went in and got it to bring home to work on. The streets themselves are still safe, but the parking lots are kinda iffy and of course all cars are encrusted in a millimeter of ice. Depending on when the freezing drizzle transitions to snow, we'll have only 5 to 8 inches of snow by the end of tomorrow. Some parts of Missouri will get almost two feet. For the metric-inclined among you, that's 12-20 cm here and "Ah, **** It, I'm Staying Home" in Missouri.

To the person I was briefly behind on the way home: you are not a tank commander, you need to clear more than a 5" wide vision slit.

When I got home, I helped a few neighbors scrape off their cars (and taught them the "score the ice first" trick), then had fun sliding around the parking lot on foot for a few minutes before coming inside to get down to work. :)

Dave Van Domelen, "Okay, okay, you don't have to be so MARY SUE about it." - Sersi to Amadeus Cho, Chaos War #5 (of 5) (Hey, if there's an Eternal who reads fanfic, it's...well, Sprite. But Sersi's a close second.)

Slim's Scythe. Based on a story I read in Cricket back in grade school, as best as I can remember it. Wish I could remember the title or author. (Not science fiction/fantasy/superhero stuff, more like modern tall tales. Well, it was modern in the 70s.)
Didn't actually make this character, just used a spare costume slot to make the look.

(As an aside, I think I managed to restore my machine to "only as bad as it was last night" after the ill-fated experiment with Fan Control.)
No books of note, but I have some comments on the Green Hornet movie. )

Grimstone and Steamhammer both Recommended. Grimstone is a sort of balance of really good and so-so elements, while Steamhammer is fairly consistently good.

Well, all of my older characters are above L14, so it's "okay" to make a new one. :) And with supergroup kinda collapsing tonight due to RL issues, I figured it was a good time to get a new one going.

I mean, can you imagine the powerset?
Best of 2010! A bit late this time, as I was waiting for some books from earlier in the year to be mailed to me by [livejournal.com profile] scavgraphics, whose store Diamond isn't trying to kill. Yet.
