So, campus is closed in anticipation of a day full of freezing drizzle. I'd put some stuff off to today, so I went in and got it to bring home to work on. The streets themselves are still safe, but the parking lots are kinda iffy and of course all cars are encrusted in a millimeter of ice. Depending on when the freezing drizzle transitions to snow, we'll have only 5 to 8 inches of snow by the end of tomorrow. Some parts of Missouri will get almost two feet. For the metric-inclined among you, that's 12-20 cm here and "Ah, **** It, I'm Staying Home" in Missouri.
To the person I was briefly behind on the way home: you are not a tank commander, you need to clear more than a 5" wide vision slit.
When I got home, I helped a few neighbors scrape off their cars (and taught them the "score the ice first" trick), then had fun sliding around the parking lot on foot for a few minutes before coming inside to get down to work. :)
