I finally poked at my ISP regarding dvandom.com. After poking around for a bit the tech commented that their servers were blocking it. *sigh* My complaint was escalated, so now I'm waiting on an e-mail from someone higher-up.
Nice to know I'm not the only one having problems with dvandom.com
I'm not sure what's wrong with it, though. From my Verizon FIOS connection I can make a http connection, but the server never responds. But it responds from everywhere else I try.
Which makes me think of some sort of packet filter somewhere. Which is odd.
Yeah, I saw from the traceroute. I can reach the server from Panix, from my linode at Fremont, from a machine in Holland... I can ping it from home, I can traceroute it from home... I just can't get any http traffic from home.
% telnet dvandom.com 80 Trying 115.70.89.215... Connected to dvandom.com (115.70.89.215). Escape character is '^]'. GET / HTTP/1.0 Host: dvandom.com
Darren's theory is that some spammer managed to get an entire block of IPs onto some banlist, a block including his provider. He'll be physically moving the machine in a few weeks, which will hopefully clear up the problem.
