I really like this, and I don't know anything about the game (it looks a LOT like how my family organizes itself, though that's more of a case of a lack of mutual interests in many cases than any attempt at distribution of labor).

Though to be honest, in the cases of gods and demons in the polytheistic sense, ever since the mess in Venezuela with the cult of divine thugs (a bunch of people worshiping the spirits of gang members killed by the police) I no longer have any faith in humans being able to tell the difference.

It's not a game (although it started as my college Champions campaign), it's a writing thing. :) Been writing stories in this setting since 1994.

That explains why the backstory isn't broken up by funny numerical notation.

Though, back to what I was wondering, can someone in this story think they are worshiping one kind of being, but it actually be another? Can a god pretend to be a demon or vice-versa? I could see that being useful, in some circumstances.

Yep, as per the "two separate gambits" line in the file. As to the perceptions of the worshippers, the arc I'm currently plotting (ASH #110-113 or so) looks into that very question. The whole Demons, Demigods and Gods file came out of a mental digression while worrying at a plot point. :)
