That explains why the backstory isn't broken up by funny numerical notation.

Though, back to what I was wondering, can someone in this story think they are worshiping one kind of being, but it actually be another? Can a god pretend to be a demon or vice-versa? I could see that being useful, in some circumstances.

Yep, as per the "two separate gambits" line in the file. As to the perceptions of the worshippers, the arc I'm currently plotting (ASH #110-113 or so) looks into that very question. The whole Demons, Demigods and Gods file came out of a mental digression while worrying at a plot point. :)
