Time for another look at my units of measurement. Last post about this was December 8, the number in parentheses is the change since then.

Weight: 225.5 lbs (-7 lbs)
Chest: 44"-48" (-1" on both)
Belly: 43"-49" (-1" on both)
Beltline: 37" (unchanged)
Hips: 39" (unchanged)

I'm not keeping track of height, since I HOPE that wouldn't be changing. :) Nor am I measuring my arms...I may have started doing some dumbbell work, but that's for tone, not bulk. Oh, and I did check the other day...I can now wear 2XL shirts without showing off an equator of belly when I lift my arms.

Excellent.

Do check height. It does change :) And you can use it to calculate your lean body mass.

Do it at the same time of day, though. We all get shorter through the day as gravity has its awful sway.

It's hard to accurately measure one's own height without special tools, though. "Parallax" is a bitch.

Okay, I used a box against a Cybertron planet poster (box to be sure of level measurement, poster so I could compare to lines of text on the poster for checking with a tape measure, since I don't want to put marks on the wall). 5'11" and a quarter, or 181cm. This is actually taller than the last time I'd had it carefully checked, so it's possible the loss of weight has let my spine straighten a bit (and might explain the back pain I've been dealing with).

Doing regular weight work, light or not, will put some mass on if you've never done it regularly before. Probably not a lot, but "tone" is an imaginary term.

Yeah, mass I'm expecting. In fact, while I lost 7 pounds overall, I figure it was probably something like 8-10 pounds of fat countered by some muscle gain. But I doubt I'll pick up enough muscle to change the circumference of my arms or legs noticeably. :)

- fat + muscle, may stay the same. Hard to tell, but who the hell measures their arm circumfrence besides Hulk Hogan, anyway?

[livejournal.com profile] jameel does. :) Mind you, he's working out at a level of intensity that SHOULD make noticeable differences in that sort of thing.

I have to make those measurements in order to regulate my diet during the mass-building phases of my regimen. During fat-burning phases, I just measure weight, waist, and body fat percentage.

I post those measurements so that everyone can smell what Jameel is cooking.

You probably should track your height, you migh just be shrinking all around.

Trust me, you'll regret it when suddenly you're batteling Spiders with toothpicks.

This is why I keep tiny weapons stashed around my apartment. The spiders won't know what they are, but I'll never be too far from something I can use.
