I still think LJ needs to add a little button to the subject area on replies to autosend "Icon Love!" messages to people directly, rather than having them end up as posts. :)
Then "Icon Love" messages wouldn't be able to reproduce and turn into huge waves of "You have a funny/cute/awesome/etc. icon which I apparently find more interesting than the actual matter at hand."
I'm not sure whether that'd be a good thing or a bad thing.
What is this "balance" you speak of? Seriously, I've never balanced my checkbook. I look at the statement each month to make sure all five or six checks are accounted for and I didn't incur any mystery fees, and that's it. :) Almost all of my purchases are by credit card (or cash for stuff under a few bucks). I may be somewhat behind the technological curve in some ways, but using checks often enough that you need to actually balance the checkbook is something my parents do, not me.
