If you decide it would be nifty to fill a pool with everclear so you can swim in booze, make sure it's not so deep you can't stand on the bottom with your head above the surface...you can't swim in alcohol. Or even float. Your density is 25% greater than that of alcohol, you'll sink fast enough that no amount of paddling will keep you up.

In other words, Namor was doubly screwed in that one ep of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.

I don't know what ep of SM&HAF you are talking about (in fact, I don't remember Namor ever being on it).

Also. I wonder how fast you would get mind-boggingly drunk in a pool of alcohol...since the alcohol would absorb through your skin.

It was called "Seven Little Superheroes" - a riff on the Agatha Christie book "Ten Little Indians." Villain (the Chameleon, IIRC) kidnaps SM&HAF plus Namor, Dr Strange, Captain America and one other I can't recall.

But the day is saved because Firestar's pet dog is able to smell the difference between the Chameleon and the real heroes.

Had to look it up at tv.com because it was driving me mad. The seventh superhero was Shanna the She-Devil.

Nightcrawler did have a cameo in one episode when the Spider-Friends drop off "Video Man" at the X-Mansion, but he wasn't in any of the episodes where the X-Men had any real screentime.

The main purpose of the swimming pool full of alcohol trap was to dry him out. If you jump in a vat of high proof liquor, the water will tend to be drawn out of your cells to water down the booze. It's also why you're supposed to hydrate when drinking, since if the alcohol concentration in your stomach gets too high, you dehydrate from the inside.

Aha. I was trying to figure out why Iceman was apparently hazing Namor when he joined the ΣΜ&ΑΦ fraternity...

It was to dehydrate him...making him weak. :)

Huh! Weird. I remember a Spider-Friends episode with Nightcrawler in, where a villain I think to have been the Chameleon failed at his first attempt to impersonate the fuzzyelf because his bamfing didn't produce the familiar sulfurous scent.
