For those of you who don't already know, Lego has a new sentai-inspired mecha line out now, called Exo-Force. Each set has an official alternate model, and some of the sets also combine into larger bots. Anyway, I got a spare of the $5 Sentry set and tried out its official alt.model, the Laser Sentry. Very disappointing. So I set out to make up my own, and took what I hope are enough pics for people to make their own if they want to:

It's a hoverbike with positionable thrusters and hoverpads.

Nifty.

How well does it hold together? I ask because Uplink's alt model is extremely floppy...the rear deck is held on by a single friction pin and the front gun is just held in place with hope and an axle, which means everything falls out of alignment when you try to swoosh it around the room. And what good is a hoverbike that doesn't swoosh? Also, I can't figure out how to mount the missile tail fin parts pointing backwards as thrusters the way God intended them to be...they're a little dopy bolted to the underside of the rear hoverpads.

To add insult to injury, once you've built it, there's no way to remove the front hoverpads/robot shoulderpads without removing the stickers. I'd rate it a Mildly Recommended at best.
