Aha. That's reassuring. [Not that I was impugning Clift's self-control, just that it sounded like something he'd say.] I think I've eaten there...twice?...but not intentionally; got dragged there both times, and his assessment seems pretty spot-on. The fact that it's open 24 hours (when it's not on fire -- which, to be fair, has happened only once in recent memory) seems to be its main selling point. I dunno how many people go there given any other option; Village Inn was our typical haunt in grad school.
