The allergy meds kicked in quickly enough for me to go hang at my sister's place while my parents went to church. We did some drawing, I did a fairy for Marah (no scan, sorry), while Marah created a superhero.
Camouflage Girl has the ability to "zap" things with rays from her fingers, copy the colors, and then spray the colors onto herself. Each finger does a different color, so if she wants to be multiple colors she has to use multiple fingers. When she's not using her powers, she keeps the extra colors in her pocket, and she can use the colors as a whip to cut bad guys. The only villains left alive are the three-legged alien Frownasaurus and an evil robot dragon (both of whom are black, so no colors to steal). Camouflage Girl lives in Rainbow Land, which has all the countries of the real world, but they're colored like on her placemat map. (Aside: interesting cognitive process here, to recognize not only that the colors on the map are symbolic...Wisconsin isn't really purple...but also to make the leap to creating a fictional world in which the colors are literal.)
I finally met their cat Mingus, as well, who tends to be shy. (My allergic Mom is happy that Mingus is so shy, of course.)
I came back to my parents' house for dinner, then we all met up again to go to Dairy Queen. If I go to DQ again, I think I'll order a kiddie cone...the small was a bit too big and my stomach's telling me I shouldn't have had so much.
Not sure what I'll do tomorrow. There's a church picnic, but I don't care for church events or picnics even separately, so I may have to see if I can wrangle the keys to the Prius and strike out on my own a bit.
