There's actually an old Archie Comics superhero called Fly Girl...I have some of the old comics, "Mighty Crusaders" or something...

Yes, I know. The Inevitable Female Copy of The Fly. But "fly girls" and "fly honeys" are also an 80s-ism from mainstreamed pseudo-hip-hop culture.

It's from the 1990-94 show "In Living Color". Which, despite being in the 90s, felt somewhat 80s. :) Jennifer Lopez (the J.Lo one) was one of the Fly Girls. "Fly" in general is played out slang for hot or attractive. Before your time, youngster. ;)
