A lot of Christmas standards (please, these aren't "holiday" songs, with a few exceptions) simply aren't all that long. Sure, many of them have obscure additional verses that can be used to stretch them out to the radio standard 3:15 length, but a lot of Christmas songs on the radio are horribly padded out, repeating the entire song twice with an instrumental solo in the middle or something.

Christmas music on the radio (as opposed to iTunes where I can control it) went on my avoid-at-all-costs list a few years back when someone decided that, because it takes place on Christmas Eve, Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne" belonged in the rotation. It's a decent little soft rock tune, I guess, but hearing it sandwiched between "What Child is This" and "Winter Wonderland" is kind of a punch in the guts every time.
