Amusing thought about Michael Jackson

Over the years, one of the running gags about Jacko has been the weird way he dressed his kids whenever they appeared in public, like a mix between burqas and Carnival costumes. A South Park episode even centered on it. Just another piece of crazy in Michael Jackson's life.

Crazy like a fox! In their Secret Identities, his kids got to hang out with the children of MJ's not-famous friends and have probably the closest thing to a normal childhood that you're going to get when your name is Prince Michael Jackson. That's all over now, sadly, but hopefully the few years he was able to buy them will let the kids weather the media and legal storm that now swirls around them.

That's actually a really good point. Especially after reading a piece by Gotham Chopra, one of his close to 'normal' friends who would hang out with him at night and write music, and how he desperately wanted to be able to go out to clubs and hang out with other people his age...but couldn't. The one time he even tried to go with Gotham he was stopped by a shake of the head from his bodyguards.

Despite his rather odd reputation he seems to have been a decent father, and I was especially surprised at how well his mother handled the situations. Her anticipation of what to do when no will was known turns out to be almost the exact thing he did write in the real will, as well as the odd situation of even the kids mothers, who may sue for custody, all thought that the grandmother having temp custody was a good thing and filed no objections.

While the guy himself was very unusual, at least he had good family to fall back on in a crisis, I suppose.
