Trying to turn my PhD thesis into a PDF, so I don't have to worry as much about format drift. I successfully get AppleWorks 6.0 (already a non-supported format) to convert the ClarisWorks 3.0 source files without losing the formatting or making the images screw up (which happens when I try opening in Pages, Word or Open Office). I print the front matter and first chapter to PDF successfully, and then do the rest. But when I go to use Preview to merge the files (in 1999 when I started writing this, making a single 1M file was a Bad Idea), I find that past chapter 1, only the first page of each section was converted to PDF.

Nothing I've tried has gotten them to generate more than the first page of each file. I've tried reconverting chapter 1, and it worked just fine. I quit AppleWorks and restarted it. I rebooted my computer. NOTHING IS WORKING. And this on top of dealing with laggy connection to dvandom.com, and dealing with work stuff today and other technical problems. I'm about ready to kick a hole in the damn wall. My throat hurts from strangled screaming.

I use PDF Creator (a virtual printer) but I suspect it's windows-only. Is there perhaps a system-wide PDF printer for Mac?

And if I just asked a stupid question that you already addressed and I just didn't understand, ignore me!

This is why PDF printers should be standard on everything...

Mac OSX has built in PDF printing. (The graphics engine for Macs is based on Adobe's PDF tech).
