I'm getting a message that my Facebook account is unavailable due to system maint and should be back...in a few hours. Is that just CYA-speak, or did something go horribly wrong that a modern major site would be even partly down for house?

Seems to be okay now, so only a half hour of downtime. Still, given that it's the middle of the day in America and likely one of their busy times, I have trouble believing they'd have scheduled a half hour downtime for even part of their userbase.

It just took me three tries to get through to FB. I'd say they're having some sort of issue, but it doesn't seem too serious right now.
