ETA: Just realized I never posted the unpainted version here:

Thanks! It helps in this case that I used mostly "friendly" paints that dry evenly and coat well (other than orange, which I was simply very careful with).

Very cool, as usual. Is this the first time you've turned a (non-armored) male into a female?

No, this was a female figure. I found enough on Wikipedia to know Zabel's normally male, but there's apparently a gender-swap version out there somewhere, and there's gashapon of both ghoul-skinned and human-skinned color versions. I used the human-skinned version.

Aah, gotcha. I'm not a big follower of the games, so didn't realize that their merch had gotten so extensive as to produce feminized versions of characters.

Reminiscent of an anime from the early 90s called "Ariel," which featured a mecha that looked like a 60-foot tall woman in a battle armor fighting giant monsters. Amusingly enough, the mecha (supposedly designed to look like the creator's dead wife, which raises all sorts questions that fall under the "Japanese people are WEIRD!" umbrella) has facial expressions and responds to damage much in the same way that a human being does (including getting choked at one point).

I like the figure. The cigarette's a nice touch; I can see the nation of Cuba investing entire harvests into keeping this kaiju-girl supplied with tobacco.
