Just saw the Chocolate Cherry Diet Dr Pepper ad on TV...remixed to have regular Diet Dr Pepper instead. So I guess we won't be seeing the liquid Tootsie Rolls again, sigh.

I found that the Torani wasn't as strongly flavored as the Da Vinci, but both of them tend to be a little sweeter than I like, and if I want to flavor an already-sweet soft drink like Diet DrPepper I usually use a non-sweetened extract.

I'm being cautious in that there is some evidence that Splenda's sugar-shaped structure triggers the same insulin surge as the real thing, and hence, may increase the insulin-insensitivity side of things.

I've done a lot of looking at extracts, but no one seems to sell a chocolate extract.

And yet, I haven't found any in stores. Not grocery stores, not baking specialty stores. Nothing in a brick and mortar.

Oh! That! There might be two places here in Portland where I could find them in the store proper. It's HARD to find extracts in stores - though you can ask and they will order them for you.

It's much more reasonable to order them online.
