Ziro the Hutt...it's like Corey Burton was given the voice direction of, "Okay, think Boss Hogg, but as an effeminate pimp." I didn't think a Hutt could mince, but he manages it.

Everyone and everything looked like they were textured with oilpaint, and using blades/trowels rather than brushes. Granted, it's better than a plasticky look, but it's still weird.

Ahsoka's navel is a ^ shape.

Every time Asajj Ventriss got in a fight, she lost a piece of clothing. What is this, strip dueling?

Oddly, Anakin's cyborg hand was never referenced, even during his fight with Dooku.

Republic tactical doctrine really sucks. Some of the fights seemed planned by a 13 year old Warhammer 40K player.

They replaced the "story so far" crawl with a voiceover. A Gary Owen style voiceover that was really jarring. (The same voice actor, Tom Kane, also voiced a Republic admiral, using the same semi-disembodied Space Ghost sort of voice.)

In general, the storytelling assumed everyone had seen all the other movies, if not the Clone Wars cartoon. Granted, it's a fairly safe assumption, but still somewhat lazy storytelling, especially since it wasn't exactly a taut and pared down story that couldn't spare a minute or two of exposition.

Heavy blaster cannons are apparently indirect fire weapons. Who knew?

All told, more like the live action prequel movies than like the Clone Wars cartoon.

Oh, and they showed the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer, just to be jerks. ;) Other trailers: The Express (we're all Colored here...we're ORANGE!), Igor (yesss massster), Bolt (I think the TV show within the movie would be more interesting than the actual movie), Madagascar 2 (sigh), Yes Man (Jim Carrey running a premise into the ground) and City of Ember (which I'm guessing is based on a Young Adult novel).

And this highlights some of the reasons I don't like Star Wars, honestly... it was never thay great a story to begin with and seems to rely more on looks than coherence.

I think the TIE Fighter CD-ROM game was the only part of the franchise I actually did like, pity I can't run it in a modern OS.

Does it not run in FreeDOS? Or DOSEmu?
I never had a copy of TIE Fighter, so I can't test this, but a lot of 3D DOS games run pretty well in either of those.

City of Ember is based on the novel of the same name by Jeanne DuPrau. It's very popular in my building. Probably 4th-9th or 10th grade.

Thanks. Between the SF trappings and the fact Bill Murray was playing what looked like a serious-but-not-Oscar-bait role, it seemed like YAnovel territory. :)
