Well, my plan had been to go to the office, put in an afternoon's work and then go see Hulk at 4. But they turned off the power to most of campus to do some repairs, so I grabbed some not-requiring-computer work to take home, checked out damage, and came home...gonna go see the 1PM showing of Hulk in a few minutes.

My office and the general group area I work in is fine. No windows or roof damage on the 4th or 5th floors where our group works. The lab supply room lost a window, but doesn't seem to have suffered any interior damage. The two General Physics lab classrooms lost a window or two, but neither had any equipment in them at the time (TAs were planning to do setup Thursday morning) so nothing got rain damaged, and the windows have already been boarded over and the glass swept up. Enough windows remain to keep the rooms from being cave-like.

I think I can compress my lectures from Thursday and next Monday into one hour, then offer the excised material to anyone who's willing to stick around for another half hour or so after the bell.

Off to the movies!

Oh, almost forgot...one of our group's grad students was in the 4th floor offices when the tornado hit. She says it didn't seem like a big deal at the time, and she was surprised to hear the tornado actually hit the building rather than simply being nearby.

I'm glad she's ok. Heck, I'm glad she's ALIVE. She's very fortunate!

It's good to hear that a hit didn't do any lasting damage to your building or personell. If it helps, a double thickness of saran wrap or clear trash bags taped over the windows can help quite a bit if you like light.

I'd just board up everything, myself, but I've learned the hard way that people trip over things if you do that... The windows is my own built-for-me room are only four inches wide and have been glued shut, but that's not for everybody.

Well, the damage is already boarded up. But we're moving the classes so that the window replacement guys don't have to schedule around us.

Thank goodness you're okay. I saw some damage pictures, and they're pretty awful.

Hulk?

So, how was the movie?
Trying to choose between Hulk, Indiana Jones, Kung-Fu Panda, or something else. Its Fathers day so I get to choose. :-P

Re: Hulk?

Hulk was pretty good, but of the three it's no contest: Kung Fu Panda, hands down.
