2" long working revolver.

Yeah, even though it's theoretically lethal, on its own it's a novelty. The part that's potentially scary is the existence of 3mm ammo. You could build a sports watch that held two or three of these bullets and used electric "firing pins" to get a wrist-mounted weapon that might well get through security (you take off the "watch" and stick it in the security tray, then get it back after you're wanded through). Press and hold one of the buttons for 10 seconds to fire all the bullets at point blank range. Just make sure your hand is in the right position so you don't shoot yourself. ;)

That's terribly silly. I think I prefer the Kahr 9mm that's 17mm wide. Yes, the pistol is less than the width of two of it's own bullets. You could sew it into the sleeve of a baggy coat, and no one would notice.

Well, my usual carry gun is a Glock 30, true, but you can't stuff it in your nose in an emergency like this one!

Edit: Oops, I just saw, they're not letting it in. Funny, though, how import guns have to have over a 3-inch barrel but domestic manufacturers can have anything. Product protection, it looks like...

Ilike it! It could work, looks like my sister's sort of thing, but at only 513 feet per second, and such minuscule bullet mass, a BB gun has a greater chance of killing someone.

If you want scary, slightly bigger, but a lot more useful, there's these:

http://pengun.com/ which DO work and look like a pen, or even better:
http://www.naaminis.com/ which makes a tiny .22 revolver that uses normal factory ammo. I've used a .22 successfully on everything up to a rabid Doberman with good effect so long as the head was hit properly.

I still wouldn't use either of these things for 10 meter match, obviously...

I wonder if the super-tiny comes with adjustable sights?

I knew a WWII Black Ops vet who told me he had used something very similar to take out select targets in the aftermath of the war.

Scary and effective stuff.

Dunno about effective, but keep in mind that that's pretty much all a pen gun is good for. One careful shot at extremely close range. No sights to speak of, after all. It's obviously not much of a defense weapon. Too slow. The setup time makes it only useful if you already know you're about to use it. Particularly the models legally sold as handguns due to the folding. So you can either deal with clandestine assassination or hurt yourself badly through a shot to your own leg (happened more then once).

The old OSS (pre-CIA) was infamous for such contraptions. I think the pinnacle was 'Aunt Jemina', edible yet exploding pancake flour. Never took off, obviously.

It has some good company (http://www.state.ok.us/~jmdavis/handguns.html) in the museum where I'm going this weekend (second listing on that page).

You missed that it's from a Swiss company.

So, how long until it's offered as an attachment on a Swiss Army "Knife"?

From: [identity profile] dvandom.livejournal.com

No, I noticed it. Just didn't think it relevant, since it's not Victorinox or the other company that makes Swiss Army Knives. ;)

Press and hold one of the buttons for 10 seconds to fire all the bullets at point blank range

Someone aiming his/her wrist at someone else for 10 seconds would arouse attention. They'd at least think it was a hidden camera.

From: [identity profile] dvandom.livejournal.com

Well, you don't have to aim the entire time. Just be REALLY good at counting. Anyway, just need SOME mechanism to make sure it doesn't trigger by mistake.

Or have the barrel pointing out of the watch in such a way that it looks like you're just adjusting your watch as you take aim.
Works for my camera-watch.
