Clearly, what you need is a keyboard made from one of those old Remington Rand typewriters with " above 2 and ' above 8. :)

' and " are where the Q key is on the Qwerty layout.

You could try getting one of those PDA screen protectors and cutting it to fit over the touchpad? That might muffle it a little.

You could always try using the "Hunt and Peck Method" of typing.

Being on four MU*s at once my senior year of college caused me to transition to touch typing without realizing it. :) One day I simply realized I no longer needed to look at the keyboard. Trying to hold four simultaneous conversations by text will do that, I guess.
