No paper ballots were available at the polling place, but the touchscreen machines were iVotronic (makes me picture a black silhouette of Voltron wearing white earphones), which according to some googling I just did have an internal paper receipt. Not as good as one I can SEE, mind you, as it's still too easy for it to be programmed to cheat invisibly, but better than nothing.

I would've made such a fuss about getting a paper ballot that they would've thrown me out or had me arrested for disturbing the peace. I'm glad I voted via absentee about a week ago.

Badass...except on my screen I can see some definition on Voltron.

Everything isn't 100% black. :)

Really? huh. Solid black here. I thought maybe I saw what you were talking about, but it turned out to be a fingerprint on the screen. Oh well. :)

Tweak your brightness (or, if you have a flatpanel like mine, just sit up higher and look down on it). It's not actually black, the details are still there. Still looks fine from straight on, though.

Mine printed an internal receipt along the side. I didn't get to keep it, mind you, but I could see my results printed out and check them to be sure that's how I voted.

I liked my machine. Apparently it's a Sequoia Edge touch-screen machine with a verivote printer.

Er... wasn't Sequoia bought out by a Venezuelan-owned corporation of some sort?
