The problem with someone calling the cops on a noise disturbance late at night is that when the cops do come, you get waken up again. I ended up not getting to sleep until after 1 AM (and had to get up about 5:40), and the noise came back as soon as the cop left anyway (albeit not quite as loud).

I hate it when one of the neighboring apartments gets turned into a frathouse or sorority house annex.

You break up enough parties, they'll stop coming over to that guy's place.

Two women are the lessors of record, but there were four there when I pounded on the door at 11:30 (and it flew open, to my surprise...idiots). I suspect this may literally be a sorority annex. Sometimes, when there isn't room in the House, a frat or sorority will stuff extra members into an apartment in my complex. Last time this happened it was the apartment across the hall, so there was enough sound insulation that I was only bothered when it was nice enough to open the windows. But this one is right below me, and I can sometimes feel the floor vibrate from their stereo. They also tend to have parties spill out into the backyard under my bedroom window (there were a bunch of empty cigarette packs and at least one beercan there this morning).

I think a third party neighbor actually called the cops, since I was pretty loud in my 11:30 complaining. The officer told me to just call them directly in the future, rather than trying to approach the neighbors and ask them to quiet down. I may well have scared the bejeezus out of the girls when I smashed their door open...GOOD.

I'm guessing they aren't in the Physics program. :D

No weight for you to throw around there...

If their apartment has windows, then he has weight to throw around.

We're told that the house across the street will soon have student football players moving in -- oh joy.

Actually, for the most part, those tend to be well-disciplined, once the coach cracks the whip a few times.
