Mine holds together fine, but I don't think it's anything to do with QC issues. I've had to PRACTICE with this toy to get enough skill to transform it properly. Part of the problem is the little pointy shoulder spikes. They're suppsoed to fold inward but the instructions never specify. Point them outward and you'll never get the side truck pieces to clip in properly- and I believe this is what has caused some of the stress marks.

You could remove the swords to improve arm movement and make transformation easier. The springs are attached to the swords so you won't lose them, but putting the swords back in can be a trick, as they're wound aorund the post by a full turn before being installed.

Oh, as for Megatron, I decided to paint the eye piece red. This required disassembling the torso just to get to the screws holding the head together, all for 2 small red dots for the eyes.

No, I figured out the shoulder spikes right away, once I figured out where the arms needed to go in general. Even with everything in the correct places (and getting them to all stay there really requires about four hands) the pegs don't hold well.
