Because I always found your Usenet reviews enlightening, informative and amusing. And I often agreed with your analyses, so your perspectives served as a great barometer as to my eventual opinion of a particular work. When I saw you made the transition to LJ, it was only natural....
Much the same as everyone else. Mostly the TF and comic reviews. You tend to find a lot of the TF figures well before I, and I like having an idea of what I'm getting before I buy it myself. Also, I like all of the "I found this hidden feature/new transformation" bits that occasionally worm their way in there. I never would have known about TMII Megatron's wing missle storage if not for your site :) I've had a pretty long relationship with you via TFs over the years in the form of sending in sightings from Pullman, WA, Portland, OR, Spokane, WA, Charlottesville, VA, and currently Richmond, VA.
And you write intelligently, which you don't get a whole lot of on the net most of the time. :) This ended up being longer than I had intended :)
Because everywhere I go on the internet, you seem to already be there. RACC? Yep. S*P? Yep. Matt & Pete's LJ/Blog? Yep. I believe the final straw was finding you on one of the RPG forum I occasionally read. It just seemed pointless to fight destiny.
Well, yes. But this is the blogosphere...if you only friended people you knew in person, the whole system would collapse! :) (Of the people who have replied here, I've met two in person and known two others online for over a decade, at least. Might be failing to connect ID to people on a few others.)
