I just got all the Scouts, Deluxes and Voyagers, dropping $212 at Walmart. Left the Leaders on the shelf...judging by last time around, there will be some available by the time I'm ready to review them, so I might as well push them onto another credit card cycle. Passed on the FABs for now, may not get any of them, not sure. Prime and Bee look to be redecos anyway. No Legends spotted yet, although I'll get those when I see 'em at $5 price point (i.e. not gonna buy them at K-Mart or Walgreens for $6-7 each). No Gravity Bots either, but I'll probably pass on those.

Time to hunt toasters and microscopes (the main wants I have for this line).

Though I'm still a bit confused on one things. Supposedly the vehicle-to-robot constructicons and the 'combination capable' constructicons are two totally different things? If that's the case, I'm holding off for Legends Devestator, even if it does remind me on some level of the Pretender Monsters.

Yes, that is accurate. Hasbro has given a fair assortment of vague answers regarding the reason for it, but I think we can safely chalk it up to infeasibility.

Interesting. In that case I will probably for financial reasons skip the Constrictizord and go for the little ones.

Doesn't surprise me, though. I was wondering how they'd deal with that kind of mass in a combiner without joint-popping EVERYTHING.

Also, keep in mind that as far as I can tell from the novels, Demolishor isn't part of Devastator.

But yeah, passing on Devazord. I'll import the Legends ones if they don't show up here, though.

He's not? This line gets more and more confusing...

I understand the issues with the combiner, but the fact remains that some of the constructicons robot modes are still hampered by being part of a combiner, despite NOT being part of a combiner.

I'll be interested in seeing your take on them, though some pictures have cropped up of them in single-pack, American style, so you may not have to import them. I'll definitely hunt those, even though the robot modes give it a 'monstructor'ish vibe.

I like Monstructor, so it's all good. :) Demolishor appears in the opening fight, and while I suppose he could have survived, he's not named later on in the Junior Novel. Haven't gotten to that part of the full novel yet.

The Toys R Us here had a 25% off sale to mark the release date. Sadly, the only toy that remotely piqued my interest from this wave was Rampage, who I must say is rather fun in a pogo-Bonecrusher sort of way.

Awesome toys from the first wave: Starscream (Completely redesigned), Ransack, Depthcharge, Breakaway.

Sideswipe is good but his feet are horrid.

Thanks, ended up getting Sideswipe and he's pretty great. If you rotate the foot kibble around so the bigger part faces the front, he stands just fine. They also didn't have Ransack or Depthcharge yesterday, but did today. I had wanted them anyway, but they're pretty great too.

I have to go shopping today anyway, I'm hoping at least leader class Optimus remains. Maybe squeeze voyager Starscream in if they have it. The fact that redeco Skywarp is friggin $30 means I may not get it and things like Scalpel and Legends can wait. None of the deluxes interest me. And while I have the $10 off TRU coupon card for $50 or more, I just don't feel like taking the long drive, and when I factor in extra gas costs it's more like $4 off.

After buying up lots of stuff and then selling it off(you ever get that City Commander from Dave T?) I'm going to be a lot pickier this time around ratehr than buying anyhting of remote interest.

I would have gone yesterday but A) I had no real guarantee they followed the revised release schedule and B) it was a case of "I have crap to do, not now!"

From: [identity profile] dvandom.livejournal.com

No, Tashjian hasn't sent me the stuff yet, but he had some personal life problems hit shortly after the transaction, so I haven't bugged him about it.

Tip to the local Walmart... nothing whatsoever. This wasn't a case of "every last bit sold out". They just flat out didn't get the damn things! So guess I'll be driving to TRU after all...
