It's funny, because I was just talking about you on a random forum in the context of "pretty much every website I've ever been to, fucking Dave Van Domelen was there first and left some kind of comment and damnit dude."

And someone replied with "Oh man, Dave Van Domelen, there's a name I haven't heard in a while."

And here I was thinking that I tend to stay away from most forums these days. :) Back In The Day I hit just about ever Transformers forum, because there were, what, three of 'em? But now it's pretty much a.t.t and AllSpark, plus some communities within places like facebook and LJ (and not many of those). The only reason I even click on places like tfw2005 is when there's links from AllSpark (and I'm generally annoyed to find that the post linked to is just a link to somewhere else and why not directly link to the original place it's not like posting the link on the other board was such a creative masterwork that it's unfair blahgewhgrtahrgtaskhfsg).

Oh not even. I'm talking like ten years ago when I first got online and all the various geek shit I used to be into, you were already there. LSH, various and sundry CCGs (the Illuminati one, iirc), the Dysfunctional Family Circus, and so forth. A weird trail of internet bread crumbs and "man, it's that GUY."

Heh, yeah. Smaller internet, easier to be lots of places. And perhaps a bit more energy and time to go those places. Searches on my name still turn up weird stuff like my Illuminopoly rules or my MSTings of net.kooks and early spammers.
