You sunk my...what the heck is that thing?

I was poking around the board game aisle at Walmart today and noticed that Battleship has gone hex-grid. And one of the new ships made for this layout appears to be an offshore platform of some sort with three pods coming out from a central hub. Weird.

(Now I'm picturing an aerial version of Battleship, with various airships from fiction. "You've sunk my S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier!")

Or the Death Star. It only has one peg, but every shot hits it. The one peg represents the shielded exhaust port....

A similar game with more of a rock-paper-scissors dynamic might be amusing. Submarine sinks battleship, but coastal patrol blimp sinks submarine, but battleship sinks coastal patrol blimp...

Sort of a cross between Battleship and Stratego. With blimps.
