Monex ads have been around for over 20 years in a sort of eternal "now is the best time to buy gold" stasis, and they're still using the same spokesperson as at least ten years ago. But now they're looping in additional dialogue to try to make the ad more topical...and I could loop dialogue better with the tape recorder I got for my 10th birthday. Who wants to invest with someone who can't even be arsed to make a new 30 second spot? Sure, the spokesperson may no longer have that youthful glow, but it's not like they're trying to make gold sexy in their ads, they're shooting for safe-and-dependable. And a few gray hairs would help there.

They're out to make money, so they likely spend as little as possible.

I'm not sure if it's the same company, but I've seen ads of a company that offer to buy gold and other jewelry/precious metals from people. It's basically like Gamestop, though, since they no doubt pay people bottom dollar for such things, and likely resell at top dollar once they have it.
