I decided to keep the number of colors in the bed to a minimum.

Not any significant alterations to just robot mode, simply some shading and the like.

LOL. Nice custom! I was going to guess the truck bed would look ridiculous in robot mode, but you know, it does so UNmodified, so no big loss. Interestingly enough, it looks MORE appropriate to have a set of clamps sticking out of a pile of scrap. Good job.

Also, I couldn't get past the first pic with out singing:

"Quiet Down, now!
It is time to watch the show.
Yes, it's started.
Don't be licking me no more.
Matter of fact could you hand me a handi-wiiiiipe?"

Good job. I was planning on nabbing this version of the mold (I have no dropkick), this just cinches it.

I pondered making a completely new weapon that folded up or otherwise assembled to fit into the empty bed, and that's still an option, I suppose.

I didn't come across as insulting it, did I? I actually like the final look there. It's one giant tool sticking out of a bunch of other tools. It takes what was kind of silly on the original version of the mold and makes it look much more appropriate, both in the context of "bed full of gear" as well as when taken with the robot's disguise as a salvage truck as a whole.

I just reread mr first comment and realized I kind of went round about and left off some quotation marks that might have clarified. I like it! MY initial reaction to the truck bed ("I bet that would look silly as a weapon in robot mode") was proven wrong when I got to the pics of it being used as a weapon ("That actually looks really good!")
