EEE Wallpaper changing steps

I decided to stick my lessons learned from last night into a single file. It's probably simpler than I make it out to be, I just don't understand enough programming to know which steps can be winnowed out without breaking things.

One thing I was wondering that's likely totally irrelevant to anyone's life...how hard is it to play music on the EEE?

I dunno. It has a media player, but I haven't bothered trying it out, and right now my home cable is down so I'm at the office away from all my MP3s.
