There was much oohing and aahing. And I think I made Asus a few sales. ;)

Also, I think I just decided on a name for the EEE. Kiryu. A cute little machine dragon. Meerp! Or should that be Meeerp? ;)

Edit: EEE stress test video. It's in French, but the pictures speak for themselves.

Edit 2: After some fussing and fighting, I managed to get this image set up as a wallpaper.

Actually you made me want one ... I'm wembling about when to do it.

The EEE goes very high on the "if I could actually USE one..." list of things along with the Wii. I keep waiting for a Brazil-style future where everyone uses obscenely small screens with huge, semi-effective sheet magnifiers and I can point and laugh.

Yeah...they have a voice command option, but that's only half the issue. I think there's an option to change the monitor to zoom in on sections (like a program one of our physics majors uses to compensate for her vision problems), but you can't "zoom" the keyboard to see what's where. And I remember you squinting at your dice at BotCon.

A standard-sized keyboard wouldn't be THAT much of a problem (I took typing lessons in the 7th grade to spare teachers my handwriting), but I've been told by various people that the EEE's is so small touch-typing is basically impossible. Unfortunately, a "real" laptop wouldn't be any more useful to me since I still couldn't use it for long stretches, and would be prohibitively expensive for a five-minute e-mail-check machine.
