Got a ceramic Christmas doohickey from my parents in the mail yesterday (they usually send me something decorative in November so I can display it through December), and since it wasn't a hanging sort but a standing sort, I decided to bring it to my office (which has a little more space for such things). Which, of course, means that when I bobbled the "FRAGILE: OPEN CAREFULLY" package it has a nice hard tile floor to fall on instead of the pile carpet at home. And superglue is about as effective as smearing water on the pieces. Anyone know a good glue I should look for so I can take a shot at fixing this?

Elmer's makes a pretty good adhesive specially for ceramic and glass.
I've also had some success with LocTite ceramic glue (not to be confused with LocTite Super Glue All Purpose Adhesive, though with enough patience that will eventually work as well).

Your local hardware shop should carry a selection ceramic adhesives.

You can find superglues that are in a gel rather than liquid form that work well.

I've also boosted my success with super-glue on ceramic by lightly wetting the two halves first. This increases the bonding (sometiems). It's not fool-proof, though.

Fix-all works a lot better, you get get it at the dollar store.

I used gel superglue, actually. Zero adhesion. Picked up a designed-for-ceramics glue today, I'll try it on Monday (not gonna risk further breakage by hauling it back and forth until I can glue it).

I've sworn by Aleene's Original 'Tacky Glue' for years because its the best I've found for gluing together porous surfaces, such as the ceramic horse figurines I would occasionally break. :( You can get it at pretty much any place that has crafty items like Michaels and Walmart.
