Pretty good, but has some significant flaws.

Decided my Arkeville needed more than just a splash of paint on the face, so I painted it up like a mini.

Thank you! This is one review I was eagerly awaiting. Due to my own finances (or lack thereof) I'll probably have do some clearence-bin stalking in the post-Christmas season, but I'll see if I can get one of these! Not the most reliable method but with my current clearence bin finds of Primus $25 and 20th Prime: $35 I have a decent chance!

These are reportedly a "do not restock" item, meaning that once a store sells the 18 they're rumored to each be getting, they're gone.

Really? Dang...I may miss it, right now, I'm not spending $50 on my own toys, not with Christmas coming up.

Luckily, I can cope using the old 'sour grapes' method!

"Well, it would have been a real pain to repaint into Thundercracker anyway..."

Even so, I may get lucky, you never know! Excellent review, anyway. I was surprised that both weapons didn't mount on the wings. A strange thing to leave off.

By the way, my science teacher's con next week is being held at the Shereton in Greenesboro, is this the same hotel you were at? I'm saving money and sanity by moving my base to the Red Roof a tenth of a mile away...

Well, the conference was at the Sheraton, I was staying in the dorms on campus a few miles away. There's a Kay Bee at the mall adjacent to the Sheraton, and if you go away from the interstate along the main road next to the hotel, there's a TRU less than a mile away...sandwiched between adult video stores. :)

Really? Thanks! (um...for the toy-store tips, not the adult stores...). Odd place to put a toy store, though. I love to hunt through Kaybee's discount bins.

Actually, that mall will factor heavily into my Thursday night plans..I don't drink, so I'm going cheesesteak crazy while everyone else is at the bar!

The food court is at the farthest point from the hotel, of course. Third floor, far end. :) But cheesesteaks are indeed available.

Wal-Mart, in the overstock shell area. It was $35, but didn't ring up as such, they had to manually adjust it. Keep in mind that this was almost two ears ago. If you want one now, the only place I've seen them is the more G1 cartoon like repaint in some bookstores with the sound base. Mine is the old 'battle damage' paintjob, no base. No big deal, though, because all I tend to do with it is take pictures and add dumb speech balloons.

Well, I think the kibble issues vary from figure to figure. MY tailfin has popped off once, and my fingers only pop off when I intentionally tried to do so after hearing about all the "loose finger" issues.

As for the kibble, I've found if you cut a tiny bit out of the inside of the fin pieces like so:

You can get them to attach to the lower tabs on the airbrake piece in robot mode and can remove the ball joints on the hips. It cleans up the kibble, and allows for more range of motion in the hips. Also , you can use the newly attached fin pieces to store the fuel tank bits from the shoulders, like so:

Overall, it leaves you with a more traditional looking Starscream:
