Well, went to the doctor for the first time in over a year today, to deal with the reappearance of an old problem, random nosebleeds. I got the inside of my nose spot-welded a couple years ago, followed by an antibiotic ointment, and that made the problem of daily nosebleeds go away. Unfortunately, last Thursday they came back, and according to my new doctor (the previous one moved out of town in the intervening months) I have an acute infection, plus am suffering from too much dryness (which is odd, because the humidity meter I keep in my apartment says it's 60% humidity...maybe my office humidity is to blame).

Rather than spot-weld again, he gave me an 8 day course of antibiotics, which I think is the first time in my life I've been on oral antibiotics. If this doesn't work, he'll have to go deeper into my nose to cauterize the main artery that feeds all the little bleeders. Wheeeeee. I hope I don't need the drastic roto-rootering I've heard some cases of chronic nosebleeds call for.

Ewww. For all the long list of health problems I've had, nosebleeds have never been on it. My only nosebleeds have come from face-first falls on ice. I hope your nose gets better and doesn't need intensive work done on it.
