Went into the Diabetes Center for my once-ever-several-months appointment today. My body fat now reads 16.3% (it's been as high as 40%, and was in the mid-20s when I started going to the center), and I've gotten permission to cut back to one a day of the "dollar a pill after insurance" meds. Yay!

Actoplusmet, which is about $3 a pill before insurance, $1 a pill after. It has 15mg Actos and 500mg Metformin, and until today I was taking two a day.

I also take a separate 500mg Metformin pill twice a day, but those are on Wal-Mart's $4 prescription plan, and cheaper than generic aspirin once insurance is done with it.

Note: Metformin's laxative side effects do go away after the first couple months.

That would be very nice. For Penny, they never did, and she used it for 8 years.

now to look up actoplusmet.

Actos does the same sort of thing as Avandia, but without the recent medical warnings. :)

Nope. I can't take the stuff, conflicts with other meds.
