Well, that's the sort of thing he might still do once he stops spawning and his youngest is graduated. You'll note that Hogwarts professors don't seem to be child-rearing sorts in general (which is why I think it's implied Neville and Luna didn't hook up). They're either old enough to have seen their kids enter the world on their own, or unmarried sorts. In fact, I really can't think of any Hogwarts professor who was married at the time they were teaching, and only one who got married at all (Remus).
