Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] ttallan's posting of her ancient Galaxion drawings, I dug up some of my oldest work and then scanned in versions of the Galactic Warrior, one of the first half dozen superheroes I ever made. I've done seven versions of the basic idea over the course of 20+ years, and it certainly shows my progression.

I also found the first female superhero I ever drew, but I think that's staying very very unscanned. It's hard to resist the temptation to burn that one....

Edit: I've updated it some, added more background about the "cohort" GW was created with.
Book of Note: Iron Man Hypervelocity #3 )

Dave Van Domelen, "Upwards of $500 billion in S.H.I.E.L.D. hardware...is pursuing $150 million worth of Stark Enterprises hardware...which is fleeing in $18,000 worth of Honda hardware. Then again, no one ever said that posthuman conflict was cost-effective." - Tony 2.0, driving Johnny Storm's stolen ricer, Iron Man Hypervelocity #3 (of 6)
This was drawn three days before I turned 18 and two months before my first serious relationship. See if you can count all the unintended subtexts! I tried to "rescue" it with the black belt added after I was finished, but....
Is to laugh... )
