SORBS.net has decided that one of Stanford's mail servers is exploitable, and put it on their blacklist. My main outgoing email goes through that server, so I'm starting to get bounces when emailing people (such as
scavgraphics). The sysadmin doesn't think the server is likely to come off the blacklist any time soon, since SORBS requires payment of a fee for that, regardless of whether you fix the problem, and the sysadmin doesn't think Stanford is likely to pay the fee. I'm also starting to get bounces that don't have SORBS's fingerprints on them, meaning that other blacklisters are picking up the server name and speading it.
If you're accustomed to getting email from me, and do not get replies from me, it may be that your mailserver subscribes to one of these blacklists. If you have pull with the admin, you could ask them to whitelist smtp2.stanford.edu or simply unsubscribe from the blackmailerlist.
