I've decided to try starting a bleme. :) The rules are simple: when you see an LJ entry with this bleme, post a piece of your high school poetry in your LJ. preferably one that fairly screams high school poetry. A poem that might as well be wearing horn-rimmed glasses and smoking a clove cigarette.

Here's mine, written when I was 15:

I live in a prison of the mind,
I try to escape, but fail.
The warden is anything but kind,
I am the warden of my jail.

I've always hated poetry, and never wrote any except when forced to in school...so I can't participate, sorry.

Not that I didn't have lots of teenage angst, of course!

I was going to post a romantic piece I wrote in early university, since anything I wrote in high school I probably burnt - thought I had a copy of this poem on the HD, but I can't find it now.

But it made use of the words, "Stygian", "leviathans", and "chthonic".

Highschool isn't too distant for me, only being a college sophomore currently, but I think mine is already lost to the confines of my old crashed HD, victims along with my über Enlgish paper that I used for two different classes with slight modications to get A's both time that probably had a few more good uses left in it. I still mourn its loss :(

Never wrote poetry, even in high school. Or if I did, I've successfully repressed the hideous shame of the memory. Just never had the knack for making words work in that particular way.

Sorry. Only poetry I wrote was in junior high, and it was pretty awful except for ONE haiku that was actually about a winter ice storm, and didn't suck quite as much.

No, I don't remember it, could probably recreate it easily, don't want to do so.
