I can't believe I didn't make the connection until it was shoved in my face during Stephen Fry's appearance on Late Late Show. The star of House was also the idiot prince in Blackadder.

My mind is blown.

I had the same problem. I watched the first episode and still have no idea what was going on in the plot, because I just kept thinking, over and over again, "This Doctor House person looks kinda like Hugh Laurie. He doesn't sound like Hugh Laurie. Like, at all. It must not be Hugh Laurie. But, he really looks like Hugh Laurie."

Funny, I just noticed that too, two days ago.

To quote Sam the Eagle, "You people are all weird."

Well, not actually watching House, for one. Yes, gasp, horror, etc.

Well, yes. Bertie I knew about, and that's not particularly mind-blowing, given how similar Bertie is to the prince. In fact, Laurie's Blackadder IV character could almost be Bertie Wooster Goes To War. :)

And you've started now with this g-d awful tritter arc?

"House" was the show that convinced me that he can act in a serious role, and not merely as a fool.

No, still not watching, actually. Like I said, I found out due to Stephen Fry's segment on Late Late Show, they briefly talked about the challenge of "acting smart" when most actors "have trouble facing the right way on the commode".
