Caught some errors I'd made, then went outside with a folding chair and tinkered until I had the details just right. There's some "Romita-ization" going on, and I omitted the border under the front doors (maybe it folds under or something, since the abdomen is farther back than I've shown), but I'm happy with the details now. Next step, inking!

It's something of an old school TF fan term.

When Marvel was hired to do character designs for the Transformers cartoon, John Romita was in charge of the group that did it (although early lore had it that he did the designs himself). In order to make the original toys into viable animation designs, various parts got shrunk or enlarged or dropped entirely, like Starscream's wings or Megatron's codpiece. Additionally, proportions were generally made more humanlike, such as Wheeljack not having the gorilla arms of his toy. This process of manipulating inconvenient altmode pieces and proportions to improve the look of the robot mode was dubbed by fans as "Romita-izing".
