It's looking like, barring sudden medical/dental expense, I should be able to get ahead enough financially that I can buy a new TV in the next month or so (I'm researching that separately), and that also means lifting one of the last barriers to replacing my VCR with a DVR. Since I've never had a DVR before, I figured I'd ask here (among other places) for advice.

Got it for $10 at Tuesday Morning. A piece of crap, sadly (was kinda hoping it'd be at least worth $10, but other than the amusement value of the packaging, it's not).
Still, the tagline just writes itself, doesn't it? "Looking for a way to dice vegetables easily and conveniently? Well, if you ask me, I'd Tap-That!"

thandrak was looking for a transformation scheme for an Imperial Star Destroyer, so I sketched this up. Color added just to make it obvious which part went where without having to, you know, draw carefully. :)( That, or this is commanded by the Hello Kitty Vader )

We are pleased to inform you that your manuscript "Gender Effects of Computer Use in a Conceptual Physics Lab Course" has been accepted for publication in The Physics Teacher. It will appear in a future issue, most likely in spring of 2010.
Woot! That's two this year! (The first was a lab exercise based on the phonebook-pull segment of Mythbusters.)
