A water main outside the physics building broke today. While my office is on the top floor and therefore not flooded, it's gonna take a few days for them to fix this. In the meantime, no water means no restrooms and no air conditioning (it's a chiller system). And given the amount of icewater I'll be bringing from home to deal with the latter, the former becomes a BIG problem.

Gonna be moving my office hours to some building outside the waterless area, assuming it's not nailing all of campus. And not looking forward to hot, humid lecture halls....

UPDATE: I checked it out, just the AC will be out. The rest of the water is still working. So it'll still suck being in a windowless office at the top of the building, but not so much that I'll have to move my office hours.

Well...I hope you have a good birthday anyway!

Turns out they didn't wait to get an outside contractor, and got it fixed over the weekend. It's a little stuffy in here right now because things have to get up to speed, but looks like I dragged the fan along for nothing. :)

Generally, yes. Probably shoulda stopped at one less trip to the buffet tonight, though. :)

Well, I stopped the steak and potatoes soon enough, probably shoulda taken less cookies and ice cream at the end.
