Today, when I got back from work, I found my "sleeping" computer simply off and the clock sitting atop the TV flashing. Another power outage blip (very short, it didn't even make the oven clock start flashing). Fourth one in the past 7 days. This is getting really old. There have been no storms or high wind or anything that would be expected to kill power, and the outages haven't all covered the entire town (the TV-top clock tells me how long ago the power went out, and I was at work at the time and didn't notice anything today...on the other hand, last Tuesday there was a blip that hit campus but not home, followed in the evening by one that hit both).
This isn't a third world country, or California. Westar Energy should be able to keep the power flowing evenly when the weather is pleasant. Sigh. At least my TV and VCR/DVD don't forget the time during shorter outages, so I only need to reset two clocks and one set of digital radio stations.
