Another weird thing

The top story in the local paper this morning was about Fort Riley wanting a buffer zone to help ease some of the noise issues it generates. The headline was "Buffering".

My first thought when I picked the paper up and brought it in: "Damn laggy streaming media."

Edit: I deleted a comment because of a link in it. It wasn't goatse, but it was in that vein. Don't do that again.

...? The pic I posted was the first Google Image result for "buffering", which gave me this page (http://images.google.com/images?q=buffering&hl=en&sourceid=mozilla-search&num=20&start=0&start=0).

If I tripped a no-hotlinking image, deep, sincere apologies. Certainly wasn't my intention.

You tripped a no-hotlinking image. A nasty one.

Ew! I'm very, very sorry 'bout that. I'm going to add them to my blocklist....

Anyway, no land sales for this buffer zone, in case you're curious. Rather, people are selling the right to develop their land. They can keep using it for whatever it currently is (like farming), but can't do anything different with it. So it's attractive mostly to farmers at this point, since it gives them a nice chunk of change now, even if it reduces the resale value of the land.
