Well, Optimus Prime IS Jewish...

So I made a Hannukah card from him. Kitbashed into...

Hee. The candleholders are all removable, I glued bits of styrene tube onto the backs of Prime's wings (and the tops of his wingtips) and drilled a hole in his backpack for the central lighting-candle. Birthday cake candles are made to not drip (much), so I didn't end up with wax all over my toy. Got the central figure at bbts.com for five bucks.

(Oh, and I'm not Jewish myself, it's a joke from Family Guy that I couldn't resist doing something with.)

Edit: Some detail pics for those interested in trying to make their own.

For some reason I'm more amazed that Optimus has wings than I was when I found out he's Jewish.

Several versions of Prime have had wings, although the first few were Japanese-only, like the add-on to Powermaster Prime (which is one of the PVCs in the shot). Energon Prime could combine with Wing Saber to get wings.

He's been a confirmed Jew for many years. Ever since Peter Griffin tried to get Chris to be a Jew so he'd be good with money...

Gah. Dave, that takes kitbashing to a new extreme of weird, and I do include the 'Hello Kitty Vibrator' among the weirdness it surpasses.

Well, the Hello Kitty Vibrator is a licensed product, AFAIK.

Nothing makes me feel the Jewish love like Autobots.

speaking of Transformers and Family Guy, did you guys happen to catch the episode that aired while you were in Ireland? I honestly don't even recall the plot, just that it had two fantastic geek references: Peter conducting the Sand People Choir, and Soundwave: Employee of the Month.

[identity profile] loki-liesmith.livejournal.com 2005-12-14 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I did catch that, I giggled tremendously, and then did so again when I noticed you put this in Dave's journal and not in mine. Hee!

[identity profile] dvandom.livejournal.com 2005-12-14 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I was wondering whose Ireland trip was being referred to....

[identity profile] loki-liesmith.livejournal.com 2005-12-14 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. The joys of linking. :)

[identity profile] sinless.livejournal.com 2005-12-14 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa.

I'm going to have to show that to some people.

Wow! That's great!

I sent out custom cards with Unicron on them last year (http://naladahc.com/archives/2004/12/23/happy_holidays_1) and for the most part my family had no idea what to make of them.

Your OP Menorah almost makes me want to do something this year but it is too late.
